The Obama Administration: Stupidity at work!

I alternate between thinking the Obama Administration acts out of malice or just an amazing about of stupidity. I do not even know how to classify the last moronic move by these people, who the media tells us, are the smartest people in the world.

The Department of Veterans Affairs was created in 1930. It took its mission from Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural speech, where he said the government would “care for him who shall have borne the battle.”

It has been an article of faith with American soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, that if they were injured while serving their country, the country would care for their injuries.

Now, Eric Shinseki, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs wants our veterans to pay for some of their care for service related injuries. In theory, this would be with “private insurance.” Anyone ever tried to get your insurance company to pay on a pre-existing condition?

Shinseki is a retired four star general. He was wounded in Vietnam, but his primary qualification for this job is that he publicly argued with then Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld over the Iraq war.

Shinseki should know better. But this proposal is coming from the party that both literally and figuratively spits on the American military. They believe the only good use for the military is to be Nancy Pelosi’s personal airline and to hell with the carbon footprint.

Fortunately, a few of the Democrats on Capital Hill have realized exactly how toxic that proposal is and have pronounced it dead on arrival. But the fact that this proposal even saw the light of day, reflects the contempt the Obama administration has for our military.
